Climbed a mountain to climb a tree this evening. Got settled in my Summit about 3:30. While climbing, three doe stood 60 yds away from me, watching.........never blew, never spooked. Just finally walked casually away. After that, I had a feeling this was gonna be a good evening. (This property hasnt been hunted in 12 years, so the deer have no idea what pressure is!!)
At 4:30 this old fat gal came meandering along from the other direction, just browsing as she waddled along. I finally decided she wasnt gonna stop long enough to give me a shot, so I did the old "maaaahh" . At 81 yds., she locked up, and looked my way. I was 30' up. She took an immediate dirt nap. Straight down, buckled on the spot!
I got down, walked to her, and as I always do, dropped to one knee and thanked the good Lord for His provision.
Then, the work started!!
Thanks, Secret Squirrel, for the help.

Congrats!
I need to take one soon, had a total of 41 doe's pass by within 40 yards over the weekend. Some still had a couple youngins with them. It was fun watching the Bucks pushing the little ones away.
Only seen 4 bucks, none of which I wanted to shoot.

Yep, I thought that was gonna be one of those old college drinking days bar stories. Congrats on the doe, she is huge!
