One of my buddies that works for NDOW (Nevada Department of Wildlife) got some landowner turkey tags this year and sent me the invite. Will be my first time out that far west to hunt so pretty stoked. Looks like Ill be headed out sometime in the last 2 weeks of April. Love going out and seeing all new terrain and birds to match wits against.

Should be a great trip!
Id try to get your foot in the door for elk, deer or antelope too. More to NV than Las Vegas, except water, that place ain't got none.

Congratulations and good luck.

NV is one of the hardest states to kill a bird chasing the us slam cause it has little to no public ground for turkeys

Unfortunately I'm not allowed to apply for tags in NV due to I work for the vendor that handles their big game license sales and draws. Landowner tags is my only option there

Yeah they are the first one I've ever done that required it.
I couldn't have your job, I apply in every Rocky Mountain western state. 😀

Best of luck again! NV is one of those states you just don't hear too much about when it comes to turkeys. Makes it that much cooler.

haha. yeah they are super odd when it comes to rules about their draw. We handle all the draw for them because they have a law that states NDOW cannot have anything to do with it. To that length we literally do a live draw process on Youtube for them and an NDOW employee cannot even been in the room when we do it. Even crazier is hundreds of folks tune in to watch it even though that draw process doesnt show who was awarded or not. that part of it goes back to NDOW and they post it a few weeks later. NV folks do not mess around when it comes to their draw.

Oh an add in that youtube video, a person from the governers office is there with is and has to sign a sealed envelope with the results in it. From there we have to make a back up and lock both in a safe in different places. Then we have to hand deliver one of the files to NDOW within 10 days.

However they did update the contract to now allow us to put in for bonus points, so when we are no longer their vendor I can then apply with points added.
