This vendor has 1 dozen Gold Tip Hunter PRO 400 Arrows with 2-Inch Raptor Vanes (1-Dozen) mispriced at $ 64.36 DZ. That's about half price. Don't know how long till they catch it.

That's 8.2 GR per inch so if that weight suits you order some up. I got two dozen on the way.

Unmatched durability with tight tolerances
Straightness tolerance: +-.001"
Weight tolerance: +-.5 gr
Includes GTO nocks with bushings
Factory fletched with 2 in. Raptor vanes

That's a heck of a deal, but to light of a spine for most people
Those are right at home with my current set up. 57 lb pull. 27 inch draw. Have not felt the need to go any heavier. The trajectory curve is wonderful with them. 2 inches high at 20 dead on at 27 and 1 inch low at 30. About 6 inches low at 35 so basically o-30 I hold dead nuts and at 35 I hold just a tad high with my single pin.

I may be graduating to a HHR adjustable single pin sight next season so that may take a lot of that out and I may move up to some heavier arrows. The only reason I could see me needing heavier arrows is if I get on a pig hunt which I really don't see that happening any time soon.

No misprint. It's amazon itself selling them. My Gold Tip rep said Amazon was one of their biggest customers.

Gotta be a mistake. They are selling the other weights the 300 350 and 500 for over $100. $69 is about what you expect to pay for a half dozen most places.

They mark them down until stock gets down to a certain level and then brings price back up. I purchased some dozens of xt hunters earlier this year for less than 40/dz.

I've seen that before too . Bought some iPhone screens that way once . Normal price was like $36 they had them for $18 bought 24 of them went back to buy more they were back up to $36 so that's why I said I dis not know how long they would be at that price . Just knew it was not going to last long

Wish the 340s were that price. They are $103.

The 400 are back up price now. It clearly was a mistake. I think even at dealer cost they had to be losing money at $64

You must not be familiar with Amazon's pricing algorithms.

What is your setup that you can shoot such a weak spine?

Weak spine??

Ok

8.2 per inch = 360'grain arrow with a 100 grain head and 57 lb draw . weight . While I realize that's lite by a lot of standards but it's well inside the charts for my weight bow and I'm having ZERO problem anchoring deer with it,

Arrow spine has nothing to do with arrow weight....
It's the stiffness of a arrow.. which is very important to make sure you don't end up with 1 in your hand because it flexes to much coming off the bow. Not to mention getting a good tuned setup.

Here's a couple good reads for you.

Like this is my first rodeo.

" For example, if you shoot a typical 310 fps compound bow, with normal 100 gr tips, and 75% let-off, all you'll need to do is follow the chart. If your bow is set for 60# and you use 29" arrows, you just follow the dots on the chart and choose the 2000 spine size. Easy!

I'm shooting a 27 inch draw set at 57 lbs. I'm getting 285 FPS out of said arrow weight/spine. I'm middle of the road on the charts.

I've had ZERO issues with this set up. I've tried heavier arrows and different spines and this is what works best for my set up.

Lol.. most of those charts don't take into account some the bows on the market today... I shoot a Mathews HTR 28.5 dl 65lb, and I use a 300 spine Gold Tip Velocity arrow... that's why I asked what your setup is..
A 27dl 58 Bear Whitetail doesn't put out the same energy as a Mathews Chill R at the same specs.... see how the charts are flawed???? Lol Use more than a basic chart..

Possibly . I know there is a big push in the community to go heavier but I think I know what is best for my bow

No push for heavier here... STIFFER and correct SPINE is my worries. :tu: my arrows aren't heavy, but they are a stiffer 300 spine arrow..
If u have any questions later on feel free to send me a message. I am a member of the Gold Tip staff, and if I cant answer your question I can put you in contact with someone who can.
Good luck in the future.

I am plenty happy in my arrow choice. It's a delicate balance for white tail. Should I go after Hog or anything heavier I am defiantly looking at going to the 340. No doubt about that.

Holy cow this deal just got unreal.

So I get my order in today. Immediately realize they send me 1 dz 400 and 1dz 500 spines. I just know I am going to get some crap from Amazon about having to return them and paying the price at the new price. So I call instead of using the returns manager and give this long drawn out story about how this was the last week of archery and I really needed these arrows today yadda yadda. The girl said NP they would ship me out another set next day out at No charge and get this. I could keep these for my trouble. Guess what my son is getting for Christmas as 500 spine is what he shoots :)

What the others were trying to say is , the spine shouldn't change just because you want a lighter/heavier arrow . If your bow likes a 400 spine and that's what it shoots the best then by all means shoot it as long as it can do say safely ( which I think your fine because with your 27" draw length your arrows are probably cut short enough to work perfectly fine ) . But if you want a heavier arrow for any other hunting at a later date , don't change the spine of arrow your shooting , just shoot a heavier 400 spine arrow .

If your only option is to shoot a stiffer spine , then you will have to leave the arrows longer and shoot more weight up front to get the arrow to the current spine setup you have right now . I'm sure you know all this , I'm just posting this for any lurkers who are confused .

I hear ya.

Yep already done my friend. I got some of Ted Nugents Goldtips 400 Spline in the other day and they are 9.3 per inch where these are 8.2 per inch. They drop like a rock in comparison but I plan on ordering a HHA adjustable site that is going to take all the guess work out.
