Just figured I would post some photos of some good color placer gold from my claim in Idaho. After about 10 days of fighting rain/ice/snow and landslides we finally got down to a good pay streak. There is 1.8 ozs in this pan, this was just the first of the concentrates we ran.

Its definately out there, I just wish it was closer to home for me. My and my business partner are making plans to go up and dredge in the Bering sea next year.

I would love to get up to the level of some of the Bering Sea gold guys, I'd be happy pulling an ounce or two a day, some of those guys are pulling over 50 ounces off the bottom that are not on TV. Crow, I ordered a concentrator to get the fines worked down, I have a hard time when they get down to the black sand and fine mica sand mixed in, I worry about losing some. The concentrator is supposed to gyrate them seperate for me, I am a green horn when it comes to panning for the most part. Here at home though, I am building a foundry to refine gold, my crucibles I bought can handle 50 ounces per melt. Thats how I intend on refining what I had in that pan, by theory, the lighter non-gold will float to the top as slag when the gold is poured in the mold. There was a guy up by where our claim is that came out with a nugget with a hair over 2 ounces just feet from our border.

This was what the pan panned down to minus the couple pickers that were in it, I put them somewhere else, the biggest picker in the pan was one .168 grams.

Ohh and a silver Washington quarter thrown in as a pot sweetener lol

I dug out my waders and pans last week thinking about getting back into it a bit. All I have is a sluice box though...went in on a dredge that I have never even got to use but its not dredging season in the mtns. I need a half ounce or ounce to help buy some other toys lol

Probably like duck hunting on Reelfoot lake.
Boats getting burned, people shooting at each other, all that good stuff.
