Anyone thinking about moose hunting in AK may want to wait until the AK DNR changes the dates of the season. I talked to a friend of mine in AK the other day. He was not very happy about the moose hunting situation. They did not have a single cold snap during the moose season this year. I made the mistake of hunting the first 2 weeks of the season last year with him. It was in the 80's in Juneau. People were wearing t-shirts and shorts. Did not see a single bull and maybe saw a total of 4 that were killed during that 2 weeks. As soon as I left there was a cold snap and my friend killed one the next day. The warm weather has caused a spike in the moose numbers but the only way to get one is to get on the road kill list. Apparently, they are having a banner year.
