As the years go by I wonder if I don't actually enjoy the preparation as much or more than the hunting itself. I absolutely love to hunt but getting in the stand or touching the release/trigger are almost anticlimactic after months and months of planning and anticipation.

come on guys. its just the second week of summer. you have 3 months to go.heck, summer hasn't even arrived really. our hot weather still lies ahead.

3 very long months of hot sticky weather wishing it was 55 degrees up in a tree.

I've started shootin more and more as well. Besides being physically ready its crazy how much of a mental standpoint there is. Best feeling in the world is when your up a tree and know with 100% confidence that if you see somethin you can take it down

yep, it is called rifle season opens nov 23rd I think
 
I got the itch as well. Decided I did not need the boots since I would not be walking but a few steps from the truck at each field. Done about scratched all the skin off my ankles from those stinking chiggers...! Maybe I have a different type itch...
