some areas i've dug the berries are all gone. the stuff i found today all had red berries and even 2 3 prongs were lemon yellow

this are some from today didn't find to much. on a side note while the pics are uploading my dad told me that my grandpa was so good at finding it he sold 1000 dollars worth in 1968. my uncle told me that it sold for 50 bucks a pound that year. that's 20 pounds of dry ginseng, today that would be worth roughly 8,000 dollars. thought that was a neat story. my grandpa was an old man by the time my dad was born so i never got to dig any with him

So what's the best way to dry it?

what we do is wash it off good, dry it in the sun until it is no longer puffy, then freeze it
