I posted about a month ago when I got my garden planted. This is how much it as grown since then. I had trouble getting my cucumber seed to start and had to replant more seed. But everything else is coming along. Added some triple 15 to the tomato's about a week and a half ago.

No kidding, looks super. Congratulations, I know that is a lot of work.

I wonder if that seed problem with cuke's is common or are they just picky to germinate?

I had one from an entire pack and it was awful scraggly.

Lemme think,,,cuke's, carrots, broccoli, lettuce. Never have eaten a single one that I planted. Broccoli will bolt because of bright moonlight I swear.

my cuke seeds have done very well. For some reason I cannot get my yellow pepper seeds to germinate in the little starter 6-packs I'm using for everything else!

You spraying for weeds??

All container grown, just killing me. My results are somewhat less satisfactory; in fact they stink.

What are you doing for soil? Fertilizer?

If containers are a problem, its most likely the growing media you are using. I have grown a burr gherkin in a pot on the deck you see. It covered the entire upper deck by August and it was only a 3gal pot

Try ProMix BRK with aged pine bark fines or mix up your own. Stuff drains like mad and wont compact. Roughly 40% coco or peat, 40% aged pine fines and 20% good compost. Some rice hulls are good too. If you use coco its gunna probably need a good shot of calcium after a good rinse. Peat will need some calcium carbonate to raise the pH.

This is my garden June 3rd. I'm getting zucchini and squash now and some cucumbers. My bell peppers are a let down and not doing well.

I gave up growing standard bell peppers. They are just to easy to get locally. If you want to grow a great bell type pepper, grow Tekne Dolmasi from Turkey. They are quite sweet and the pods can get massive. If you like spicy bells try Antep Aci Dolma (also from Turkey). Ive grown both and they thrive in hot climates.

This is mine today. I mainly love trying so called heirloom tomatoes so I grow quite a few varieties.
