This morning I went to the gun range to sight in a couple rifles and play with my new camcorder. I got there before 7 am and had the place to myself till I left at 9:30.

The attached video was of an 8" gong, using 140 Gr Hornady in my Ruger Compact 260 REM. The scope is a Burris Fullfield II 2-7X35 with ballistic Plax reticle. I sighted the gun in at 100 yards, then did the gong shooting with the 300 yard hashmark held right on the center of the gong.

Nice shooting Jakeway-that disc looked pretty small next to your hand and the 300 yard range looked a long way away. I like my Ruger .260 a lot too. PH

The gong looks very easy to make if you have a welder and some plate, rod, and chain. I bought it about 15 years ago at a gun show for $40 and haven't seen one since.

Cool Vid.
Nice shooting.
Now ya just need a camera on the Gong itself showing the bullets hitting.

Or put a chrony right in front of it to see how fast they're going when they hit.
