14 Sept  it is almost here! Has anyone been scouting yet? I might actually scout the first 2 weeks of Sept and hope to find a decent velvet buck that 20 other hunters are trying for too. lol... Fishing hasn't been too good so why not.

You don't need to scout. Go play golf!

Just say "NO" to Golf!

Golf is for people with feminine traits(just being politically correct, don't want to upset the TnDeer snowflakes).

I heard you had a very low handicap.

lol... Anyways, so what area is it in?

Maybe the three of us can surround him.

Wait a minute, :? I think I am being had! I have never even seen Roost 1 nor heard of him killing a buck on the Fort.

Hmmm... and what is this "the 3 of us" crap? I ain't doing all the leg work so yall can just walk in and get the kill. Buddy is only half the word. I think I will just stick with area 21.

Why not? I always put in the work and someone else kills the giant. Figure it's my time.

I've never heard anyone with good knowledge of deer biology support earn-a-buck. That's a quick way to kill too many does just so people can shoot a buck.
I would say he has never hunted Fort Campbell. Oh wait,,, he said with "good knowledge of deer biology". Nevermind... Bats are us.

Have it on pretty good authority that the likelihood the Earn a Buck program being implemented again this year are fairly high. I know it says that they will make the announcement by 6 September but it will more than likely come sooner.

Being 4 hours away, earn a buck could possibly keep me away. Perhaps that is the intent because they do not make the place easy to hunt for anyone who is not close.

Doing so would eliminate my $1000 plus injected into the Clarksville economy, but I don't think the fort is concerned with that aspect.

I would support earn a second buck! Either sex with a 1 buck limit and can earn a bonus buck tag with 2-3 doe kills. I wouldn't count buttons either.

Sure hope his doesn't happen. IMO earn a buck just gets a bunch of button bucks killed. From what I've seen the population is more bucks than does on the fort.

How about shoot a spike or fork to earn a buck.

With the QDMA in place I very seriously doubt they are going to go for that, they did the earn a buck program a few years back for about two years. I think it was the 2014 and 2015 season if I am not mistaken. if they do implement it I will obviously just try to get a doe right away. I planned on shooting about three does this year anyways plus hopefully fill my buck tag. My freezer is empty. I ate tag sandwich last year and held off to long passing on a ton of does. This year the first few does I see are going in the freezer.

There must be a ton of deer on the main post. Can't have the deer eating the CGs flowers/garden.

I believe that is Cole Park, the real Fort Campbell high fence hunting area(high fence for the high rank that is).

It took me 4 weeks to kill a doe last time EAB was implemented. It also ruins early season buck hunting because everyone crowds the fields and shoots the first doe that steps out. I wish they had doe only areas at the beginning of season.

It is Cole Park I used to live over that way when I lived on post. I got lucky for earn a buck and killed one on the second day. I just wonder how they conduct their surveys to determine it. I mean the rear area is so big they can't possibly have that many cameras out. Then out further in the 30's and 40's there are not really a whole lot of fields for them to survey from the road.

This is just hearsay, but what I was told was the EAB may comeback because of the lack of deer killed last year since civilians only had 15% of the areas. I am all for the military having more %'s of areas but give the civilians at least 30%. Would love to see it like it was a couple of years ago when areas were segregated.

By the way, my buddy and I killed 5 does on 16 (doe only hunt) last year two days before season ended. We were told then EAB may be back this year from the lack of kills while we were checking them out.

Good luck to all this year!
