The right way.

Starts with the bread. I like Challah or Brioche type bread, homemade of course.

Slice, soak in spiced batter for at least a minute, and cook on buttered griddle until crispy.

Dust with powdered sugar and cinnamon, drizzle syrup or fruit compote, Enjoy.

It would be even better if you slice the bread and let it sit out overnight the night before making it. Don't know why but semi-stale bread makes better french toast than fresh.

Looks very good though!
