You might be surprised! My 84 Montana in 308 weighs 5 lbs and 14 ounces w/scope, and really doesnt kick all that bad...it rises more than it kicks. The stock design on the Montanas seems to absorb alot of recoil.

Just be warned.... Kimbers are very hit or miss.... SOme shoot good.... some are horrible.... The Montant I had was doing great to shoot 2 inch groups at 100 yards and it went back to Kimber because the chamber was too tight and would not close on factory spec ammo.... Sold it.... The more you surf the more you hear about this....

They do not call it the Kimber Roulette for nothing.
