Just wondering how many people will fire a primer in their ML before they load it to hunt with? I did last year, before I put it in the truck to go to my hunting area,I put a primer in it and fired it.Then loaded it.Anyone else do this?

Another question, does your ML shoot the same with a clean bore as it does with a dirty bore?

no to both too i never do shoot a primer in mine before i hunt with it and i take and spit swab it between shots and then when i get home with it i take and clean it with real hot water and then take soap and water to it and then it ready to go the next time afther oiling it

I guess it depends on what powder I am using. BH209: never, yes. Other powder similar to pyrodex: Yes, after the first few it starts changing .

I acctually will fire mine once with a light load before loading it for hunting or target practice. I have it sighted in with a dirty barrel so I don't have to swab between shots. The 1st shot with a clean barrel is a little high and to the right.

Always, and have my ramrod and a patch inserted fully. When the patch is destroyed, or at least burned thru, I know I have no fouling present.

Yes, fouling primer before shooting always...

(NEF - Huntsman)shoots about the same for 15 to 20 loads using 80gr 777 & FPB's...then starts to get too hard to load and I clean per Hornady instruction.

(CVA - Kodiak Pro) not there yet...still working a load for it

(Remington Genesis)shoots about the same for about 10 loads with a spit patch or solvent patch between shots and one dry patch...then it just goes  using 105gr 777 and 300gr SST with Low Drag Sabots (sold this one to pay for the CVA) accurate rifle...felt bad about selling it so I kept it in the family, my younger brother is the new owner and will be hunting with it this year.
