What would be a good smaller HD camcorder for lower light conditions? I have a larger Canon camera but it is not practical for me to carry sometimes. I mainly just video all of my daughters hunts and am carrying alot of stuff at that point. It needs to have an external mic input. Looking between the $300-$600 range I guess.

I use and still use a Sony Handy-cam small, start out at $200 take good hd video and decent sound quality. Best thing about the cam it has awesome zoom I use it as my binos. Lucky for me I happen to get free from a work party!

Canon Vixia HF21. It lasted 6 years, I put it through hell. Excellent video and had all the external ports us "common"folk need.

Thanks guys. I had looked at the Cannon HF G20 and wondered if that was the lowest price I was going to fins on a better low light camera. Just thought I may have been over looking something.

Some of the refurbished Canon cameras are great! Mine lasted for about 6 years until it got wet-IN MY CAR!

The video quality is very good. You can see my pellet gun pellets IN THE AIR!

Canon hf g20 is a great camera. This is what I use. Check it out on Campbell Cameras.

Agreed.

I use a Sony AX2000, but the Canon HF G20 is an awesome camera as well.
