In my backyard I have a small foodplot that is right at the edge of the woods so my family can watch the critters from the house. I planted it late last summer (wheat, oats, clover) and the deer absolutely hammered it. It is still growing well and is about 7 inches tall now. My question is should I mow it down to a reasonable height since it is still growing, or just leave it alone until late summer and turn it over and re-plant? I'm using this "backyard plot" as an experiment, until I get my own land to hunt and get off of public land. Any help suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
