Have a small field 30yard wide and 75 yards long that i would like to do a plot on. What do i need to do

Soil test, then decided your goals for the plot.

Either perenial food source, annual attraction plot?

Either start spraying with round up to kill back what's there now, and prep The soil with a good turning, or deep chisel. Disc according to the seed bed you desire.

If not able to spray, disc repeated times days apart to kill out weeds and other competitive plants.

One word of caution, it is highy addictive...lol

Good luck with it and have fun most of all!

You normally need to have a plan prior to the soil test so the fertilize/lime recommendation from the test fits what you want to plant. If it is poor soil, I like to plant buckwheat in the spring as a soil builder prior to fall planting. Get the soil test asap so lime can be put down soon to be in better shape for the fall since it takes a while to work.
