It's been a tough turkey season so far for me. My farm is usually full of mature birds willing to take a ride home. But I was able to harvest this bird Saturday morning. He and his buddy literally ran to my set after a few soft tree yelps and scratching after they came off the roost.

This never gets old!

Big congrats Rob. As always, I love your pics. I had soccer Saturday morning with my daughter, but I have seen a good many dead gobblers from Saturday morning with a foggy background. Early kills, before 7AM. West and middle TN.

Thanks Andy.... It was a classic morning. I knew I had to capture the moment when the fog looked like a white wall behind me. The two birds that morning only shock half-gobbled when a hen flew down off the roost. They were tight lipped when they hit the ground.

Nice bird! Congrats!

They're are some still playing the game. Was out near the Nashville Superspeedway yesterday looking at some land and saw 2 different gobblers hanging with a lone hen and one gobbled the entire time we were there.
