I am blessed to live where these fish live. They are only native in Tennessee to a watershed in the extreme southeast part of the state. Anyone who knows me knows I love the wild trout but these little guys are a close second. It was a beautiful day to be in a stream but miserably hot at 95*. This is somewhat low elevation around 1500'. Bite was a little off, probably due to the heat but still managed a dozen or so. Mile long hike up the mountain back to the truck was brutal but you can't catch them if you don't go. Other than my partner, not another soul around for miles. It was a good day!

Damn cool. Perfect scenery and a beautiful species.

A 5wt. That "might" be a little overkill for the size of fish they are but I need to be able to cast streamers and poppers at some distance and as mentioned above, there are some large Alabama spots in there as well.
I understand that. I've been throwing a 6wt just to turn over the weighted streamers as well. I would like to go to a 4wt, but that would be hard to fish with.
