So this past Thursday I was keeping an eye on the weather. Front was coming in that night and the pressure went from a 30.12 to a 30.25 throughout the day. I have had a nice 8 hitting a group of white oaks almost every day between 8:00pm and midnight. We have been getting pictures of him on all 5 cameras since August. My buddy named him the Crooked Brow 8 as his brows looked like fish hooks when he was in velvet. I figured if he was going to come out early it would be today! So I took off work early and headed to the stand!
I got in the stand at 4. Immediately saw a deer behind me in the woods. Then had 2 long beards walk behind me, but they didn't offer a shot. I knew it was going to be a good evening.
After seeing 2 does and a couple of fork horns light was fading quickly. I was looking through the pictures from my camera and he had came in a few days earlier at 6:13. I thought man I wish he would do that today! I could hear a deer walking in the woods very slowly and thought to myself "I bet that's him". Well at 6:15 a deer steps out at 15 yards and there he is! I drew back as I was shaking like a leaf and let the arrow go! He ran about 60 yards and piled up. I couldn't be happier with my first bow buck and first bow kill on video. Once I figure out how to load the video I'll add it here.
