Finally found the doves

3 day before deer season. First I was walking a freh cut corn field and saw nothing, not one, until I bumped a few in a fencerow. Shot one off the tree limb and that was all the luck I had there.

Went to another bush hogged area that is great for birds to loaf around and eat rocks and seeds. After a little walking, I flushed a couple... A few more... Busted one out of the air and then another flock flushed nearby. Fired 2 more shots and missed. Walked around some more and now I'm sitting down in the shade in the perfect spot, hoping some start to come back.

2 doves in the bag and maybe another hour of hunting. Finally found em

I got a few more....shots. If I get off work early enough tomorrow, I'll take all my deer hunting gear and a tent and my shotgun and go dove hunting Friday evening, camp overnight and go deer hunting in the morning.
