Whats the squirrels doing

Aint been squirrel hunting in about 19 yrs. Planning to hit the woods this weekend with my 4 yr old. Just looking to get 3 or 4. Enough for some fried squirrel n gravey. So what's the squirrels doing eight now? I'm assuming they are in the tops cutting acorns?

Should still be some hickory's left, they are eating beech nuts up here in Kentucky.

Hickories yesterday in SW TN. Cooler temps have them more active than opening week.

There cutting everything here in Western KY. hickories, acorns, beech, seen a black gum tree over by our old farm yesterday there cutting. A lot of squirrels here in my area.

You guys that have been hunting East Tennessee your whole lives are some tough dudes.
Up the mountain,down the mountain,parallel the mountains and almost rolled down the mountain.
I struggled to put something together this morning.
Little bastards wouldn't stand still.
Once they got into the trees, they disappeared.
I got a huge piece of private I hunt so it's been cool just seeing more of it every trip out.
Got 1 in the freezer
Off hand head shot at 50 yards with a CCI Stinger.
They were eating all kinds of nuts. Lot of walnut trees.
