I went hunting this morning and had to come out early because of a crap pain and when me and my buddy did we stumbled across the 8 pointer I shot last week coyotes had tore him to shreds but at least I found his rack idk how to upload photos from my phone to here or I'd show y'all

Glad you found his rack, if nothing more. How far was he from where you last tracked him to? I realize the coyotes could have moved him some, but just wondering if he was close to where you last looked, or a long ways off in a different direction from where you looked?

Be aware that to legally possess the rack you need to check it in.

would this still hold true if a person found a deer that someone else had shot

Yes, if they possess any parts..

so if you are in the woods and you stumble onto a deer skull and keep it, you have to check it? or does it just apply to deer that were obviously killed by a hunter?

It applies to a freshly killed animal and not a bleached skull.

And, before the question, the "freshly killed" part will be a discretionary call on the part of the officer, so there is not a ticking clock from illegal to legal.

I found a dead 10pt 2 years ago with no apparent cause of death way back in the woods,it was fresh, less than a day i'd say.And I cut the head off,and thought i'd do the right thing, and call it in,like the guide says...county WO said he needed it so he could have it tested for EHD.Well it tested positive for EHD,but he said i'd never get the head back.

What about obvious Road KIll SCN ??

Killing deer from the road is illegal :)

I think you can pick up roadkill as song as you report it within 48hrs of collecting. I asked scn last year.. pretty sure that is what he told me anyways.

Deer killed by vehicles have to be reported to TWRA or a law enforcement agency within 48 hours. They would be legal to possess.

It would be illegal to report a shot deer such as this as road kill.

Why in the world would a crap pain make you And youor buddy come out? Plenty of logs and trees to hold on to and it should not be a "buddy" thing?

:)

Lol because didn't wanna smell the woods up if u smell some of my crap ud no what I'm talking about lol

yeah, but what about your buddy? He have a pain, too? Two people quit hunting because one has to pinch off a loaf? can't figure it and can get hundreds of examples of bucks being killed doing just that. Just have to watch where you drag them.

Must not have been much of a pain if you had time to stop and cut that stinky thing off.

:)

Can u hunt with a bow during rifle season with a bow license

To start, it isn't just rifle season. It is G/M/A season.

All three are open, so, yes, you can use a bow with a bow license. A gun license is not required unless using a centerfire weapon or shotgun with slugs.

And no i didnt have pain didnt know there was a specific time frame some had to stay in the woods arent u the one thats says u hunt when u want not when someone says u should

Heard that i dont pay no attention growed up with 3 bros and worked construction and factory work for 10 yrs im use to the wise cracks
