Sounds like a story to me... and not the bad kind. It doesn't matter if you had him on camera or not, you made adjustments, went looking for sign and got him. This is far more hunting than watching any camera. Congrats!

I never realized that a jaw hitting the ground could be heard from 300 yards! You had to hunt before firing a shot that sounds old school to me. Tremendous buck.

This dude came in hot on the heals of a pretty lady and stopped when he heard my jaw hit the ground! Unfortunately there's no story behind this hunt and of all the game camera pics, he was never around the area. I hunted an area all morning Sunday that I've yet to hunt and after seeing zero activity I decided to slowly walk into another area that I've yet to hunt to see if there's any activity. I sat down on a stump overlooking a large cutover and barely got situated when the couple came in for a late morning jog. They stopped in the middle of a logging road right at 300 yards and I squeezed one off. He never took another step! View attachment 62530
