i dont know much about food plots but thought i try this year, ok so i chose biologic full draw. i read something about the 10-10-10 fertilizer. but which do yall use? Also how much, and i know you gotta get the soil test but say you didnt on a normal note how much fertilizer you use for a 1/4 acre.

2 bags will do, 3 will be plenty, remember to start you a log book and write down everything that you do, seed, fertilzer, date, moisture, etc,

the log book will make it easier from year to year

yep, just got back soil tests for two new fields and the recomended fert was 88-75-77....for wheat!!.....never would have even gotten close with out the soil test. Every field we have tested in our lease has very high recs. for all three!!!!!

i just had my plot tested few weeks ago. took random samples in several different spots in my plot dug down few inches got lil dirt in each spot . put in a plastic container took sample 2 county agracuteral agent he filled out papers then put samples in a box. i sent box an papers 2 ut knox by mail cost less than 4$ 2 mail letter an 6$ for sample. bout 10 days later i get results back tells you soil ph level tells you how much lime 2 add an how much an type of fertilizer an in 5 10 10 or 10 10 10.
so 4.00 to mail an 6.00 2 do sample

You might be better off getting lime instead of fertilizer so test your soil. If you have no time to wait, then they have a simple do-it-yourself kit at most garden centers, it will get you in the range, but is not highly accurate. Biologic stuff is grown under ideal conditions, if your soil is less, so will be your results IMO.

any fertilizer is better than no fertilizer as any product grown for deer will respond to fertilizer if nothing much else, the exclusion being that if your soil ph is below 5 it gets so acidic that the plant is unable to process the fertilizer properly....therefore wasted money.
