Feeding on the ground or out of a pvc feeder or feeder

Everyone here in MS runs a feeder it seems, and they love to sit 75yds from it.

Deer seem to prefer eating bait right off the ground, but I would STRONGLY advise against doing that. If the deer don't clean up the corn pile and it moulds, you may kill all your turkeys in a mile radius.

You may still kill your turkeys with a gravity feeder or spin cast feeder if the corn has aflatoxin, but it is better than laying on the ground.

I love feeders here in MS on my lease... everyone else sits on one and never kills a good buck, and I hunt between the bedding areas and foodplots with feeders and manage to scrape out a respectable old deer most years.

Don't get me wrong, I just set up another feeder and camera this afternoon at my local lease... they are GREAT for getting nighttime pics of bucks to let you know what is in the area. But I believe you are wasting your time actually hunting them for a mature buck (but you can kill the heck out of little bucks and does off them)
