Here are some excuses you can use this year for calling in sick to work so you can go deer hunting.

Also, have you ever used excuses to get out of things so you can go deer hunting?

Why I Can't Come to Work Today...

If it is all the same to you I won't be coming in to work. The voices told me to clean all the guns today.

When I got up this morning I took two Ex-Lax in addition to my Prozac. can't get off the john, but I feel good about it.

I set half the clocks in my house ahead an hour and the other half back an hour Saturday and spent 18 hours in some kind of space-time continuum loop, reliving Sunday (right up until the explosion). I was able to exit the loop only by reversing the polarity of the power source exactly e*log (pi) clocks in the house while simultaneously rapping my dog on the snout with a rolled up Times. Accordingly, I will be in late, or early.

My stigmata's acting up.

I can't come in to work today because I'll be stalking my previous boss, who fired me for not showing up for work. OK?

I have a rare case of 48-hour projectile leprosy, but I know we have that deadline to meet...

I am stuck in the blood pressure machine down at the Food Giant.

Yes, I seem to have contracted some sort of attention-deficit disorder and, hey, how about them Skins, huh? So, I won't be able to, yes, could I help you? No, no, I'll be sticking with Sprint, but thank you for calling.

Constipation has made me a walking time bomb.

I just found out that I was switched at birth. Legally, I shouldn't come to work knowing my employee records may now contain false information.

The psychiatrist said it was an excellent session. He even gave me this jaw restraint so I won't bite things when I am startled.

The dog ate my car keys. We're going to hitchhike to the vet.

I prefer to remain an enigma.

My mother-in-law has come back as one of the Undead and we must track her to her coffin to drive a stake through her heart and give her eternal peace. One day should do it.

I can't come to work today because the EPA has determined that my house is completely surrounded by wetlands and I have to arrange for helicopter transportation.

I am converting my calendar from Julian to Gregorian.

I am extremely sensitive to a rise in the interest rates.

I have 12 days of vacation to use between now and the end of the year. That means a couple during October and 2 straight weeks in November.

I don't make any excuse, I just tell the other ranger "hey, I'm coming in late or leaving early to go deer hunting

the voices in my head told me to stay away

huffing all this gas gimme a migraine

i caught the dibeetus at a church ice cream social

it's comin out both ends

or heck, just leave em hangin- someone else can do the french fries today

I grew up hunting in north Alabama and bow season always opens on Oct. 15th regardless of the day of week. It opened one year on a Monday so I skipped school to hunt a buck I had been watching. My mom had to write me an excuse, she has always been honest and hated a lie. So she wrote that I had an appointment with Dr. Woods. I guess she was telling the truth in a way. Nothing was said about the excuse..

I work 2nd shift. So I can hunt most mornings. Off Saturday and Sunday. Have 3 weeks vacation every year also.

For the first time since 2005 I have paid vacation. I am going to try and make up for all the time I have lost in the woods with a rifle in my hands.

after a week or so of that, I can no longer function. getting off at midnight, I can't go straight to bed when I get home. it's usually at least 2am before I get to sleep then up at 5am to hunt. I hate 2nd shift.

My hunting schedule weekly- Saturday and Sunday(morning & evening), Monday(morning), Tuesday(sleep in), Wedensday(morning), Thursday(depends), Friday(sleep in)...
Season starts like this, then I play it by ear with weather mainly.. I like the freedom of hunting any morning I choose. It's just a matter of making myself get up on about 4 hours of sleep. It gets harder after the rut especially.. And I do hate 2nd shift in the summer but love it in winter. I'd rather hunt mornings anyways.. I use vacation a lot on Fridays during season and that makes for really long weekends to hunt..
