In the Middle of no where
Today while at the range a fellow shooter was having problems with sight-in his Encore. He shot about 20 rounds or so and was all over the paper target at 100 yards, mainly horizontal stringing. Loasd 250 shockwave and 2 50gr pryodex pellets.

I kept watching him and started giving my input and at this point one could tell he was getting more than frustrated.

1. He would hold the ML different everytime he positioned himself to shoot.
2. Even after one shot he was having problems pushing the projectile down the barrel and seating it at the correct depth.
3. Trigger travel was way to long, slop was could not cover it.
4. He was flinching alot.

He asked me to shot it and I was able to place 2 shots within a 1.5 group.

This is my opinion:

I like the rifle, but my vote on the new breech plug is still out. The barrel was tight on frame so no slop there either. Needs a over-travel screw for the trigger, but with the travel between the pull and actual ignition would not help this rifle (needs a trigger job bad).

I suggest to Mr. Duncan to 1. Try to remember to hold and handle the rifle the same way each time and pointed out that it is harder to do while hunting but try. That included preasure with the hands, shoulder, and cheek. 2. Switch to T7 or other water based powder. Not as goooy or tacky (that is the way I will discribe prodex after shooting) 3. Dry fire rifle and shoot a 22 rim more often to help with the flinching. 4. do not get impatient.
