Bury them all Mr. B.

I really like it when you post pics of your rifles, they do indeed look special. What did you do with your blue stock?

its in the safe with a brand new Stiller PredatorV right bolt left port action,,,I havent decided what caliber bbl I am gonna put on it yet,,I moved the Tac 30 6.5x47 from the blue ST1000 stock into an AICS chassis and put the single shot PredatorV in the blue stock but havent barreled it yet,,

Why do you have your scope mounted so high? Im not experiened enough in those fancy trick 1200yd rifles.

that is actually a 100-300 yard benchrest rifle,,the rings are high and offset so I can look through the scope with my right eye and watch the flags with my left eye without getting my face on the stock and I dont have to twist my neck and bend over to get lined up behind the scope,,,,I shoot 100% free recoil with that rifle and my shoulder is about an inch off the butt plate and by the time the rifle slides back into my shoulder the bullet is long gone,,

it takes getting used to but I can actually close my eyes and get behind that rifle and when I open my eyes be looking straight through the scope without moving my head,,

it is all about the follow through and getting ever shot off exactly the same,,

I can see where that bag would be about as steady as it's possible to be for sure. You mentioned shooting without touching the rifle with your shoulder, and I have always heard bench shooters talk about doing that but I can't understand how you can actually pull it off repeatably? If the rifle moves rearward at all before the bullet exits the barrel, the muzzle always jumps up because the rear bag is sitting on the sloped under side of the butt stock. I don't have a rifle as heavy as yours but I do have the older Remington 40X-Rangemaster with the extra wide forearm wood stock and 27 1/4" heavy barrel chambered for the soft recoiling 22 CHeetah and even with that I'm not sure i could get away with shooting it that way. I'm not arguing that it can't be done because you and probably most bench shooters do it...... :)

Are you speaking in tongues??? You long guys... ha!

That is a sweet bag. I shoot my 16 pound 30 cal sml free recoil too, even with 300 wm loads. With no hold on the gun, shot to shot repeatability increases dramatically.

I do have a question for you though. I see most benchrest shooters have buttstocks that are flat on the bottom, I assume to allow for no elevation changes during recoil. What are your thoughts ? I noticed that yours is not exactly flat. Is that so you can change elevation by moving the rear bag fore and aft ?

IBS rules dictate that there must be taper in the toe on short range benchrest rifles. The rules change on long range to allow a parallel forend and butstock.

I'm surprised people don't push that rule to the limit so that you have to have a granite top table and dial indicator to measure the .010 taper in the underside of their barely legal butt stock. :)

Thanks Mr Big for mentioning this company. I went to their website and found that they make reproduction military holsters for 1911's. I've been wanting to buy one of those for years to carry my 1911's on the farm and keep dirt off of them. That is perfect and based on their other products I'd say should be top quality.
