EBay Elk Permit

Anyone tried to see what the Auction for the Elk Permit is up to? I have tried to get on but have been unable to find it on the Ebay Page. Has anyone heard of anything?

I will guess well over $50,000...Come on guys I seen a tag go for $65,000 in Washington State for a rifle tag during archery...This hunt is a once in a life time tag...150 years since the last elk was harvested in TN...Yeah I would guess well over $50,000... ;)

11,600 at 8:30 AM less than 12 hrs into the bidding. Guessing it will easily exceed the $25,000 mark. This is well out of range of anyone that I know.

I actually thought about bidding on the tag. But it got a little out of my price range about $11,000 ago.

It won't take long for TWRA to realize this is a cash cow. Even if the herd isn't self-sustaining, might as well import a few bulls from LBL each year just to keep the tag fee going :)

Congrats to TWRA and the elk program. They deserve every penny!

Well, I was way wrong. It broke $15K today. It might bring greater than $25K or $30K. I hope it does.

Gone from $15,100 yesterday morning to $17,500 now. Of course, I'm glad for the TWRA, but I always wonder why some of these ebay genuises insist on making bid after bid on a big ticket item that doesn't close for almost 5 days! Do they not understand that they will spend less money and have just as good a chance at being successful by waiting until the last minute to see what the bid amount is that they have to beat? That is known as sniping, and is what most savy ebayers do.

What shill bidding... nah that never happens on eBay! It may not be TWRA raising the bid, maybe someone else helping.. but at the end of the day.. the winning bidder will not pay anymore than he wants to. If shill bidding is happening, I hope the shill bidder gets stuck with the winning bid!
