What part of the state are you in? We hunt middle Tennessee, but I have not noticed a large number. They are migratory but we keep a good resident population all summer. I have no idea how it will impact opening day but I cant imagine it would hurt yours unless the food source was scarce and they moved on because too many in the area. However, I am not an expert. I do love September 1 every year. It is a great weekend with dad and my boys. What will you hunt over?

we use to hunt the quwana [SP] club hunt in sweetwater but they only had a small peice of property to hunt on about 3 years ago so we quit that & i have been hunting opening day closer to the house since then,went to forks of the river 2 years ago & a guy banged a killdee & then walked over to me & said what kind of a dove is this :( ,bought a robo dove last year & was not impressed with it maybe this will be the year :) mike243
