does anyone useFederal 209A primers with blackhorn 209?

someone just told me these will not work well with blackhorn. But I think he may be mistaken.

It is recommended that you use 209 magnum primers. CCI or Federal

I shoot a Knight mountaineer and have shot CCIs 209m, Federal 209A, and Winchester 209 out of it with success. As it sits right now I shoot Winchester's out of it and my wife and kids disk extreme and my CVA Optima pistol with the black horn breech plug So to answer your question if your guns breech plug is designed right it will shoot it

That's the combo we use in my sons MZ and we've never had any issues.

Yes, the Federal 209A is a magnum primer and is actually recommended by Blackhorn. It is all I have ever used in both of my ML. Check out their website. Wish I could find some.

Same here, found 700 of them at the pawn shop for $20. I snatched those as quick as I could.

I could do that but you would have to come to me, not willing to ship hazmat. I am about 1.5 hours WSW from Chattanooga

I shot cci 209 m 1 season. Then went to regular Winchester and cci 209. I am shooting blackhorn and Winchester 209 with no issues. I know several guys using cheddite 209. Because thats all in stock in my area.

I shot CCI (not magnum) originally and had a couple of hangfires. Thinking it was the primers, I switched to the Federals.
