I shot a coyote the last day of the Mississippi season. He was at a steady trot at 200 yards and I didn't leaded it enough and got it somewhere towards his butt. He went to spinning like he was chasing his tail trying to get whatever got him. It was unbelievable to see how fast a coyote can spin. That made it easy to finish him off. A doe stumbled upon him and I happened to catch it on video.

She wasn't convinced it was down for the count, was she? I gut shot one several years back and I know what you are talking about, he spun like a firecracker for a second. I wouldn't have shot any other critter the way i did that coyote but he stopped about 20 feet from my blind with his entire head and chest hidden behind a tree. I had my 257 Weatherby and knew that if I gut shot it, there was no way it was going to get away. I let 'er rip and disemboweled the varmint. As soon as he stopped spinning a 2nd shot ended the whole ordeal

One time on the last day of deer season in North Georgia I blew a fawn bleat deer call And a coyote came running As though he'd heard the dinner bell. I was in a tree stand in big hardwoods, the way he came running disgusted me. When I put one right behind his shoulder he spun so fast it was literally a blur. It reminded me of a Wylie Coyote cartoon. When I eventually climbed down to go home I found it was a very big male probably 35 pounds.
