Do you always spray before discing/tilling? I am considering just bush hogging and then tilling this year. No spraying. Thoughts?

depends on how tall the grass is you bushog, but more importantly how long from the time you cut to the time you till. We've tried both ways and after running over green grass 3, 4, 5 times to get a good seed bet we decided spraying and discing 1 or maybe 2 passes max is much easier and time efficient.

If you cut and try to disc or till before the cut grass on top dies you are going to have a very hard time, IMO

Bush hog, wait a week for new growth, spray. Wait a couple of weeks for everything to die then plow. Been working for me for many years.

X2 - my only difference is that if I can't wait a week for the new growth I will go ahead a spray a few days after I bush hog - if I have to. All and all though, I think BigTex is dead on.

Yep, spray then disc. If you can get one decent rain on your plot after you have bushhogged it, wait a couple of days after that rain to spray. Allows the grass to come back you want to kill where you can get good spary to leaf contact.
