Yep....Im sold on home brew scent killer spray.
I have been using it since Oct. 10 and at this point have had many does end up down wind of me with no signs of tension or alarm. Having taken two does now with my primitive bow using it is a plus also.

And its cheap too. A bottle of spray at my local big box store is $6. For $6 I can get the ingrediants to make 2 gallons. It's really easy to make also.

The recipe/method I use is pretty common online:

2 quarts hydrogen peroxide (first aid variety 2-3%)

2 quarts "wild water" (from a creek, river, pond, rain barrel, etc. Not tap water.)

1 cup of baking soda

4 ounces of scent free bath soap.

Mix it all together and put in a gallon jug. Do not cap tightly...cap loosely as it will make a(safe) mild chemical reaction for 24ish hours. If you cap it tight it will swell the bottle or pop the lid off.
You can use it immediately via a spray bottle. Shake before using as the baking soda will slowly settle to the bottom.

Happy hunting.

Interesting. Gonna try this. When, how and how often do you apply it? Still fairly new to hunting and scent eliminators, wondering how you guys use it.

I've read about this before. Seems like a lot of people use the scent away body wash. The green bottle.
Thinking about making a batch of this

Yeah...I have been using the scent away hunters soap. The green stuff.

I spray my outer layer down to the point the clothing is damp the night before and hang it on a line to dry.
I also damp my boots with it as well as my back pack..@all the night before.

Before I touch my clothing or gear the next morning I soak my hands in the stuff....then dress and load my gear in the truck.

When I get to where Im gonna park... i get all my gear, respray my boots and hit the woods.

I got white residue on my clothes from the baking soda from some that i made and i just ended up buying some this year. I remember the chemical reaction as well.

Yeah some times you can get a bit of white from the baking soda nut since I have started shaking the hound out of it before I spray thats not happened.

Just a note about any white residue, put it up to a black light, if it glows, so do you in the deer's eyes.

Good idea. A good friend of mine has a black light he uses on the job. He's a bug man. I'll see if the sprayed down clothing glows.

I've been making my own by simply clipping some mixed vegetation from my lease. Boiling it a little and using it in a spray bottle. Not a scent killer per se, more of a cover scent.

I bought Elimitick camo by Gamehide, which included light weight pants, long sleeve shirt, head gear and gloves and it has a repellant built in which is scent free and repells chiggers, ticks, knats and mosquitos. It works, you need to try it.

I tested the home brew scent killer for ultraviolet glow with my buddys black light.

My favorite hunting outfit is a lightweight leafy wear set of pants and long sleeved zip up shirt. I have worn it on all my archery hunts this season without washing it yet, which was a lot of hunts. Well over a dozen. (and it doesnt smell!!!)

I have treated my leafy wear suit with the home brew scent killer the night before each of those dozens of hunts. And when I spray my outerwear I do so heavily...to the point that the garments are a bit damp to the touch.

So after dozens of home brew scent killer applications...my leafy wear suit had almost no ultraviolet glow under black light which Im happy to know!
There were a few*teeny* spots here and there that glowed with UV. they were no bigger than the head of a straight pin and there were just a few. I assumed it was little clumps of baking soda. But my buddy that owns the black light said it was from the dye in the clothing. Im not sure which.

But in conclusion:
Home brew scent killer spray causes practically no or actually no UV glow!
