The thread on PA and regeneration reminded me of a fact I stumbled over the other day. The entire-all seasons- deer kill for the entire state 0f Massachusettes for 2011 was, are you ready, less than 12,000. Archery in TN kills 20,000 annual. Opening day rifle kills more.
There is plenty of cover and food but apparently there are few hunters willing to step through all the hoops. There just has to be some monster deer up there.
We may complain but we have much to be grateful for.
