I have only seen one here in Cleveland and it got hit by a car. That's was close to Cleveland Middle School.

Although EHD seems to be bad this year in many East TN counties,
don't know any reason that would bring deer to the roads.
EHD infected deer go to water.

Suspect the deer population has simply increased,
plus, yes, there is often a different menu along the mowed roadsides,
such as preferred clover which may be harder to find away from mowed areas.

By the way, common that following an increased deer population,
EHD hits the higher deer density (or at least hits it harder than compared to lower density herds).

I travel almost 20 miles to work daily from where I live on a 4 lane highway between here and Florence Alabama.................over the last 5 years we average at least one dead vehicle stuck deer per week now and I would venture to say it is getting closer to 2. Two weeks ago 3 in one night in a 300 yard stretch just outside Killen , ala. and one was a 1.5 year old buck. I hate it so!!
