Chronic Wasting Disease in Tennessee Whitetail Deer Continues Creeping Eastward
CWD is now documented in 20 of Tennessee's 95 counties.
Yep.Twra was completely against it
The level of unfailing, confident ignorance about the bait bill isn't even shocking anymoreYou guys do realize it was a jerk legislature and his cronies that got it passed, Twra was completely against it and had their hands tied on the situation
Yes and its frustrating. You guys do realize it was a jerk legislature and his cronies that got it passed, Twra was completely against it and had their hands tied on the situation
I'm just going to say it, fellows if you don't want to deal with the bull crap regs that go along with this disease that we can't do anything about, stop testing your deer.Chronic Wasting Disease in Tennessee Whitetail Deer Continues Creeping Eastward

The $50 fee is established in the law. TWRA can't give them away if they want to.It's all about the money. The CWD scare generates lots of "research" funds. And yes, the baiting bill was brought forth by a politician, but the good ol TWRA couldn't pass up a chance to tax the hunters. Same thing in my home state. Baiting is bad…..unless you pay the tax to do it.
States that have had CWD for years allow baiting. Michigan comes to mind. They took it away, people complained, they put it back in.But yet they passed a baiting law.
This state would not know wildlife management if it punched them in the nose. And boy, do i wish it would.
Not the point. It's the collective talking out of both sides of the mouth over the span of just a few years.States that have had CWD for years allow baiting. Michigan comes to mind. They took it away, people complained, they put it back in.
CWD is coming, so is baiting. I don't see either going away and at this point, I see CWD going away before baiting. JMO

I know where you're going. So let me clarify, I'm aware baiting has nothing to do with the TWRA. But they have to be held just as accountable for all things wildlife. They are rusty spoke in the wobbly wheel also.by who?
Hold them accountable for their part in it, by all meansI know where you're going. So let me clarify, I'm aware baiting has nothing to do with the TWRA. But they have to be held just as accountable for all things wildlife. They are rusty spoke in the wobbly wheel also.
i do not like the earn a buck program. hunters shouldnt have to be rewarded for assisting with management of a resource they enjoy
This x1000.Unfortunately hunters mirror society. A whole bunch of entitled parasites who concern themselves only with their immediate desires. No forethought or care for the inevitable consequences to come.
I wonder how many thousands of positive deer have been consumed before they even knew about the disease? Nobody died or even got sickI'm just going to say it, fellows if you don't want to deal with the bull crap regs that go along with this disease that we can't do anything about, stop testing your deer.
There, I said it.
I get what you're saying and don't really disagree. But it doesn't mean it won't be found. The most recent find in Wayne County was via a road-killed deer. But you're correct that less hunter-harvest testing would lessen the likelihood of detection.I'm just going to say it, fellows if you don't want to deal with the bull crap regs that go along with this disease that we can't do anything about, stop testing your deer.

My thoughts exactly buddy.I wonder how many thousands of positive deer have been consumed before they even knew about the disease? Nobody died or even got sick![]()
