Cutting then spraying

I bushhogged my field a week or so back and decided to knock it down further with my finish mower this evening with the intent of spraying it Saturday. However I read something on the label that said to wait after cutting until the grass / weeds begin growing again. So, how long should I wait or is it okay to spray Saturday and still kill it?

if you are seeing only mowed stalk and no green foilage then you need to wait a few days, roundup is absorbed through the green foilage and carried to the root system

I usually spray before bush hogging.

Well crap. Guess I'll wait and see how long it takes to see new growth. Hopefully I can do it by Sunday.
