I always read and been told white tails are creatures of habit. Two weeks ago we had the same six bucks who are obviously traveling together get picked up on the same trail camera 2 days in a row. Now none of the 6 have been photographed over the last two weeks.
Creatures of habit? Don't think so. Anyone offer an explanation as to why they just appear out of no where then disappear? This is on our property so I know no one is harassing them.

While deer tend to be creatures of habit, especially during the summer, it's not unusual for them to make excursions throughout the year, even outside of the rut. I'm not sure how commonly it occurs with entire bachelor groups, however. A flood event, like we've been having lately, could knock them off their daily route even.

I'm betting your bucks are still there but for whatever reason temporarily avoiding your camera site. Maybe they picked up your scent there?
