So I was driving by a bean field I can hunt and seen a decent buck. I have seen him numerous times and when I do I always only see his rack sticking out of the beans. This got me to thinking, it'd be cool to stalk one by creeping though a bean field with a bow. Has anyone on TNdeer ever done this? I've seen similar things on mulie tv shows but never whitetail. I'm sure it could be done but only with patience.
 
I have not done it but I know a hunter in the southern part of IL who hunts that way most of the time. Both he and his wife, using trad. eq. havekilled deer over 160 withthat method. They prefer windy, rainey days and most of their shots have been under 15-yards.
 
I was successful doing just that on the old Cumberland springs wma one time on a bow hunt. It was nerve racking to say the least, but it can be done.

I killed a decent 4x4 Muley in his bed in CO. a few yrs ago after stalking/crawling about 500 yards with my bow.
Ive killed several whitetails with my bow from the ground, but never succesfully stalked and killed a mature buck doing so! Standing corn is actually a great place to stalk deer with a little wind to help!
