I've gone once every spring for the past couple of years. I think I'll keep the tradition going, because I have always come home with 7 or 8 nice bream. I have yet to catch a crappie out of there, but I haven't tried going after them specifically.
I started going because I was thinking about my grandpa, who died in '08, and how he always wanted to take me fishing there. We almost never caught anything, but he played golf on the course and consequently liked the lake.
I have just been fishing from the bank on the north side, walking most of the stretch from one end to the other. In most places, the drop-off is horrible and you sling your arm off trying to cast to decent water. If you find a few holes, the fish are packed in there though. Just gotta weed through the small ones.
I think I'll bring my dad this next time and take the boat. Just a bit warmer water...
