Coon hunt w/o dogs?

Didn't see as much as a possum.

Gps mark some persimmon trees. And have at it. Years ago me and a friend killed a half dozen out of 1 tree.

I've done it on several ocassions. A good squaller and light and your in for a good time! We get out in a field and shine the the wood line. Always found it to be very productive!

I always seem to find coons and possums when I'm not looking for them, always during the off season. When it's coon and possum season here (sept-feb) I don't seem to find them. Maybe I should find some good producing persimmon trees. I will have plenty of WMA land to look at this year now that I have the type 004.

A mag lite is a great spot light, not super high powered, but it will glow eyes from a good distance.

I won't have a partner for this venture so, I'm thinking that I'll use a spot light and then mount a tactical light on my .22 to take care of business.

I just learned to hold a gun and flashlight at the same time :grin:

You are only partly right. Possession of electronic and/or predator calls at night is illegal. A coon squaller and light is perfectly legal. Ask in twra forum, I already have before...

i wasn't even aware that a coon squaller existed. i just assumed you meant a distress squaller, rabbit or such.
