I am usually really excited about the NWTF convention. I love going to hear the calling competitions, see all of the latest and greatest gear, and just be around fellow turkey hunters. However with having to pay to park, plus the 20-30 bucks at the door. I'm not sure that I will be going. Anyone else in the same boat?

i dont think you can park at the mall still so you will have to pay 12-18bucks to park...

i also am unsure if i will go this year. parking kinda takes away from me buying something.

unless something changes the only parking available will be at the Opry Land Hotel and when we went to look at Christmas lights they charged me 20.00 to park. Since the floods back in May the whole mall is closed with the exception off Bass Pro and Im not walking from Bass Pro to the Convention! That place is like a maze with all the barricades and fences. Good luck to all that go
I hope Im wrong but that place is going to be crazy

you have to pay to park, pay way to much to get in[for my large bunch] 3.00 a gallon for gas to get there from here, money to tight, gonna take the boy squirrel hunting

Dang it has been $8 in the past. Not sure I will pay $20 + parking. I always leave there with a headache too. :(

I had read somewhere that they are going to have shuttles for a nominal fee. I would assume that the shuttle parking would be where those outlet stores were/are behind that Cooters and the Caney Fork Fish place.

FYI got this off the convention website:

Parking:
$5 Parking at Gaylord Opryland overflow lots-see map for parking directions. Special rate applies for Lot E. Look for the Opryland buses with the Nationwide window decals. Need Handicap Access? We recommend that you drop off anyone in a wheelchair at the Delta Portico entrance. Or you can valet for $5 at the Cascades entrance.

I thought Bass Pro was just right up the street and not a long walk. If I remember correctly the Grand Old Opery was next to Bass Pro then the Gaylord Palms Hotel.

so if you join the NWTF via phone you can just show your number at the door and you are good to go?

And NWTF is offering a free $25 Bass Pro gift card with a renewed or new membership. A regular membership is $30. So, you're really only outta pocket $5. Just call 1-800-THE-NWTF and tell them you want to join and get the $25 Bass Pro gift card. Just be sure and get your membership number before you hang up. They'll be checking them at the Exhibit Hall Entrance Door for free entry.

Ok now I may be on board!

i looked over the NWTF website and it didnt say anything about the bass pro stuff...where did someone find that info

If that's the case ill be calling them up on that deal.

I'm not going but its not because of paying to get in or parking. I went year before last. It was my first and last trip. I don't like being crammed in there like a can of sardines. You could barely turn around. If it wasn't for that I would like going. However, being packed in there like that is not for me.

We were planning on going.... but I just don't have the excitement I had last year, which was the first one I/we had been to.

I hate the crowds.... anything that we could buy there can be ordered from a magazine or online. Shipping will be cheaper than buying gas to drive there and back.... It was fun, but I am saving our money for hunting related items we need.

Just ordered mine over the phone (the only way to get the card). Worked out great. Now if they will let me in the convention with just my ID number.

check with your local chevrolet dealer they may have free tickets. I just got 2 from the chevy dealer in winchester. the tickets say guest of chevrolet.
