Y'all that have done good so far, have y'all shot many collared doves? Are they a noticeable percentage?

I'm hunting close to where collard doves are supposed to be. In 6-7 years we have been hunting there and hundreds and hundreds of doves shot. We have killed 0. I've only seen 1 killed in 60 years hunting
I got one Saturday morning. I had been seeing 6 of them on that field for a while.
I see them around town at Lebanon but never anywhere else too much,maybe now and then. I've never shot one and never seen one killed. I read somewhere they were one day gonna be as common as starlings.

I saw several in Jefferson County during the last few years I worked especially on the north side of the county.
I have some that nest around my house. Their call is different. They also cross with mourning doves.

A few batches in Robertson County.
We killed one Friday in Wilson county. First one I've seen shot. We didn't realize it until we were cleaning them. We had two pigeons and thought it was #3, but noticed the odd color.

There is a pair that stay around the parking area of one of my doctor's office in Springfield. They sit on either one of 2 power poles.

I killed 7 in a row during a snowstorm years ago then followed up with 15 regular doves

I see them while walking around my subdivision quite often. Maury County.
Orlinda has a good couple of batches and by the dog pound in Springfield also.
that is where I have seen the most of them. Walking in my neighborhood in Rutherford Co. They aren't afraid and you can get close enough to realize something is off and then you see the black ring on their neck.
What I've noticed is they are a little bigger, a little paler and have a squareish tail. I would guess the eat just as well?

Their call is quite a bit different than a morning dove. It's still a cooing sound, just in a different rhythm. I often hear them well before seeing them on my walk.
Most I have ever seen was in one of @Chaneylake fields.
