Collared doves?

I see them around town at Lebanon but never anywhere else too much,maybe now and then. I've never shot one and never seen one killed. I read somewhere they were one day gonna be as common as starlings.

I have shot 1 a few years ago down in Mcminn county, have only seen a handful over the years and it's always been down that way. none in Knox county or north of there

I saw several in Jefferson County during the last few years I worked especially on the north side of the county.
I have some that nest around my house. Their call is different. They also cross with mourning doves.

Their call is quite a bit different than a morning dove. It's still a cooing sound, just in a different rhythm. I often hear them well before seeing them on my walk.
