Chilly and quiet

Opening weekend was a bust due to the Muscadine Fest and all the traffic. I sat for a couple hours Saturday morning but, just couldn't stand it any longer. Didn't even try Sunday with the heat and residual traffic. So, here I sit on a calm, cool, morning. Not even a squirrel has moved yet. Overcast with a cool breeze in my face, I wonder if today will be a bust. Only been here since 0630 but, kinda gott drop a duce so, may be cutting this one short.

I slipped in an hour before legal light and had deer walking all around me before light. Light out and not seen but 1 squirrel. I figured with these cooler temps pushing in maybe the deer would be on their feet a little more

Why cut it short??? Drop the duce and keep going. Stay out there for all of us that are at work pretending to work

I noticed on opening day on my way in to my stand on my boat, that there were deer out and it was like 4:30 am. By the time the sun came up ghost town and I think I saw one squirrel.

They just haven't been moving much where I have hunted. Eventually i will catch up with them though.... :twisted:

I ended up getting winded at 9 by a big bodied doe due to it swirling like crazy she was making her way to me and she got about 70 yards and up went her head and sniff sniff gone
