I have hunted public and WMA land many times. I have seen a 130" 8 point on LBL but have never harvested a deer. My luck has always been on private land. I've got my fingers crossed for LBL 2017. Good luck if you decide to hunt the Cedars!

yes it is only certain parts you can hunt. Thinking that since its on my way home from work so might be worth stopping on my drive home and hang from a tree for a while each night.

public land can be tough, if your gonna be successful you will have to work a lot harder at it

Buddy's of mine have hunted it a lot. I hunted it two years and seen lots of deer. Opening morning of rifle was like a track meet where we were. During the week we didn't see anyone.

Get off the road and there are plenty of places and good deer.

I've hunted the place a while and respectfully beg to differ. Only reason I do still hunt it is it's 20 minutes away. It's not near the deer hunting that Yanali or Cheatham has to offer....or Priest or Old Hickory for that matter. That's where I'll hunt after I get a boat, but anyhow....there's some deer there, but they're hunted for sure. Top soil is very thin so don't expect much in antler mass. Lots of hunters during firearms seasons so if you see much buck sign expect to have company or find the perfect tree with a climber bolted on. And you don't necessarily have to leave the road by much. Folks don't respect the no driving on trails rule much and about the only decent buck I've ever laid eyes on wasn't 100 yds off the road. Just saying. Best advice I can give other than to hunt somewhere else is focus on red oak acorns surrounded by lots of cover.
