Caught a nice Cherokee bass today

This is one of 2 hybrids I caught today , while fishing 25' deep with a Hopkin's 1/2 oz. jigging spoon. This one is 27" long ,and dwarfs the other 16" fish .

Very nice! What lake did you catch that on? I caught a nice 12 lber a couple years ago on Melton Hill.

I can't see the pictures out here at work, but a 27" hybrid is nothing to frown at. I need to put my boat in the water sometime soon.

I try to correct some of my buddies all the time on this. To most people they're just stripers......ALL OF THEM!!! LOL

I normally call them Hybrid stripers . I haven't had an adrenaline rush like I had after I landed the big one in a while . I was shaking like crazy .

I don't have any scales ,but it had a 20" girth .
