HAS ANYONE HEARD IF THE RESCENT FIRES WILL SHUT DOWN THE UPCOMING QUOTA HUNTS? AND EXACTLY WHAT AREAS WERE BURNED, GENESIS OR BI-COLOR SIDES?

Last I heard was genesis and peavine areas. Nothing in bi color. But that was a couple of weeks ago

We were up their this past weekend for juvenile hunt and bicolor is on fire also it's about a mile past island creek on your left. Honestly everywhere we went the smoke would burn your eyes. Daddy's creek area was terrible. The fires are the ones that the forestry and TWRA done a few days before the 9 day archery hunts they can't get them to go out with no rain. (These were scheduled burns) The Tenn forestry fire division was up and down the roads all weekend on the juvenile hunt trying to put them out. Good luck to you guys and gals that got drawn hopefully it will rain

Also nobody mentioned about canceling hunts just watch out for forestry dozers

OK THANKS GUYS FOR THE INFO MIMITK DID YOU SEE ANY DEER DURING THE JUVENILE WHILE ALL THAT SMOKE WAS IN THE AIR?

Never understood why Catoosa was highly thought of. I guess from years ago but I'd rather put in for any other WMA within 100 miles of there.

Catoosa is a good place to kill a mature buck but it comes with a lot of work. Lots of boot leather and hours on stand away from everybody else required. These areas can be hard to find but they exist. Definitely tough Mtn type hunting.

I AGREE IVE TAKEN SOME NICE DEER OUT OF THERE AND SEEN SOME NICE ONES WHILE HUNTING ONE OF MY FAV PLACES TO GO

Also Cumberland County is in county wide burning ban. So I'm guessing the guys camping won't be able to have campfires.

Has anyone been up there as of late? I was drawn for the gun hunt but I am having a tough time getting any reliable info. My father in law likes to hunt the Genesis side near Fire Tower Rd but I keep hearing conflicting information about whether or not it burned.

I hunted in Morgan Co yesterday and could smell smoke just about everywhere I went. Not sure if that was Catoosa or another fire.
