cat fishing from the boat?

I was wanting to take my son, little girl, and my wife out on the boat on norris to try and get some cats but never have done this before. Any info would be great dont know how deep to fish in the channel or the banks? my boy really loves to catch cats out of the ponds but he wants to go out on the boat, once agian all info would be great.

might try some jugs. we did last week on tims ford and caught a mess of flat heads using brim.

You can rad my post about old hickory..my son loves it.Slip floats,#1 hook,a spit shot,some shrimp(chicken breast works too)..find bluffs,gravel bars,and cast away..Good luck!
