I have always shot aluminum 2219 shafts out of my crossbows. Found a half dozen Easton Bloodtrail carbons to my door for under $25 and ordered them. My only concern is I shoot fixed blade 125 gr Muzzys, No trick broadheads for me. These come with a 3 inch vane rather than the 4 inch I normally use. Do you think the 3 inch will stabilize the shaft with the broadhead of choice or do I need to think about a refletch to 4 inch vanes.

I have used 4 inch vanes as well as 3 in and saw no noticeable difference. It may matter at really long range but for my hunting situation with shots at 40 yards and less, it makes no difference.

That's right at my self imposed range also. Am really thinking of making a switch from 125 gr muzzys to 100 gr muzzys tho with the smaller dia carbon.
